After graduating from SUNY Oswego, I received an apprenticeship at Earthworks in NYC where I produced production pottery and taught classes in throwing on the wheel. I then moved to the Hudson Valley, had three wonderful children and received a teaching certification and a Master’s degree in Art from SUNY New Paltz. For the past 20 years I have been a high school art teacher at Valley Central High School, specializing in teaching Advanced Ceramics.
My work is both sculptural and utilitarian. Wheel-thrown pottery pieces reflect my interest in the overlap between nature and human forms, playfully depicted within the positive and negative spaces of the carved ceramic vessels.
